Parker Hubbard
Alonzo Parker (b1807 in MA d 1892) and Horace Hubbard (b1808 in CT) were listed as tool manufacturers in Conway, MA from 1842-49, and in April of 1850 founded the Conway Tool Co.
In 1830 and 1840 Hubbard was shown living in East Hartford CT.
In the 1850 industrial census the company was reported as employing 64 male hands at $2,048/month and 1 female at $12/month using steam power producing 130,000 molding planes worth $50,000 and 60,000 bench planes worth $25,000.
AFter a fire destroyed the factory in July 1851, Parker moved to Greenfield MA and started the Greenfield Tool Co.
The B imprint was made with one die and is from a 7 3/4 inch beech coffin smoothing plane.
